The advanced locking design is at each end of the jump ring. One end has a protruding post that points outwards. The other has a little hole that the post goes into. Firmly grab one side of the jump ring and twist open the jump ring the same ring you would open a traditional jump ring, leaving a large enough gap to put objects on. Hold one end with your pliers and twist the jump ring back until the edges are aligned. Squeeze the jump ring together until the post is aligned with the hole. Take chain nose pliers and crimp the jump ring so that the post goes up into the hole. The jump ring is not locked shut and will not open unless you want it to.
